Father's Day Treats

Alright, so here's the deal. I had good intentions of writing a post for each month highlighting milestones and sharing pictures of Nolan up to the current date. Once caught up I would then post throughout the week. Well I knew it would be a huge undertaking, going back and looking at my notes of things he did and selecting all the pictures to share, so I just put it off, and told myself I would do it soon. Well that was like 2 months ago! Here's my plan, I'm just going to start posting. Plain and simple. The type A in me would love for the accounting of his progression to go in chronological order, but I just need to jump in and start sharing his precious moments. I'll add a tab at the top and list his month my month updates there.

Let's begin

On Saturday Tyler came up here to help me out with something that I've been wanting to do for quite some time. Have our little family's portrait taken. For those of you that don't know, Tye's quite the photographer, he took our engagement photos too. I'm sure this will become a tradition for us. I knew exactly where our session should be taken, where it all began, Jenkins Estate. I gave Tye a printout of some poses I wanted, told Norm he had to smile and no cheesy faces and the end result is just what I hoped for. Well maybe it would have been nice for Nolan to smile too.

Clearly Norm did not listen to me.

This weekend was another big milestone, daddy's first Father's Day. He put so much thought and effort into my Mother's Day that I knew I needed to do something fun for him. Pinterest is a God sent for when you need ideas for just about anything. Let's face it, Norm is the creative mastermind in this family, I just copy ideas I like and pawn them off as my own. Perusing the site I found a card design that I loved, simple enough for me to do and personalize a bit. There were printable labels that looked like chalkboard with Father's Day writing on them as well. A quick stop at the store and I was in business.

One of his favorite dinners, check.

One of his favorite drinks, check.

One of his favorite snacks, check.

Cute card to tie it all together, check.

The gift itself is a custom design onesie and matching shirt for daddy. I truly thought about going and just having the shop create the idea I had, but I knew in the end Norm would enjoy it much more if he designed it himself. So I told him what I wanted to do and put into motion his creative gears.

Finishing up the night with fun bath time!
